The Bible...

The Bible should be used as basis in serving God. It is the only book inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instructions.

2 Timothy 3:16 ""All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living,"" (TEV)

But how did God reveal His words to man? It is SPOKEN by God.

Hebrews 1:1-2 ""GOD, who at various times and in various ways SPOKE in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days SPOKEN to us by His son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds."" (NKJV)

And the words spoken by God were saved through the works of His servants in which He commanded them to put it into writing.

Jeremiah 30:2 ""“Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: WRITE IN A BOOK ALL THE WORDS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU."" (ESV)

The book referred to is the HOLY SCRIPTURES.

2 Timothy 3:15 ""and how from infancy you have known the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."" (NIV)

What's written in the Bible are the words of God. One quality of the word of God is that, it is TRUTH, therefore contains no contradiction.

John 17:17 ""Sanctify them by the truth; your WORD IS TRUTH."" (NIV)

And in order for us to not to fall prey to erroneous teachings invented by men, we should follow what the Apostle Paul has prescribed, that is, NOT TO GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN.

1 Corinthians 4:6 ""Brothers and sisters, I have applied this to Apollos and myself for your sake. You should learn from us NOT TO GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN in Scripture. Then you won't arrogantly place one of us in opposition to the other."" (GWT)

For God has a WARNING for those who add or subtract from the words of God written in the Bible.

Revelation 22:18-19 ""I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. (NIV)

Therefore, we should faithfully follow all the teachings of the Bible because this book will teach us the way to salvation.
